Why Join The American Legion?

We’re Veterans just like you who care about America, our fellow Veterans and their families, and our Nation’s youth.  The American Legion is a powerful voice in Washington dedicated to preserving the rights all Veterans have earned – and were promised – through our service to our Nation.  The American Legion Post #347 and the Department of Florida is always there for you and your family – whether it is when we lobby in Washington, D.C. or at our local American Legion Posts throughout the state of Florida.  Just like you, we’re “Still Serving America!”

When you join our American Legion Post #347 you are always welcome to sit alongside fellow Veterans and share a story about yourself or brag about your children and grandchildren.  You also have the opportunity to volunteer in the kitchen or to help run special events or even run for an Officer position.

The American Legion is the Nation’s largest, most influential, effective, and dependable advocate for Veteran affairs.  Since 1919, Legionnaires have fought for the rights of servicemen and women.  Today we stand at nearly 2 million members Nationwide, and have over 130,000 Legionnairesin the Department of Florida.  Read more about The National American Legion HERE; and the American Legion Department of Florida HERE.
